Yesterday evening in Milan was a splendid one, hosting around 300 people to celebrate excellence in the field of Printing and Converting, promoted by Stratego Group and Unione GCT Milano with the awarding of fourteen Gold Printing awards. In the afternoon, the Print Economic Forum, presented by Enrico Barboglio, CEO of Stratego Group, offered an in-depth look at three significant topics: numbers and trends in the graphic-cartographic sector, sustainability, and artificial intelligence, with contributions from Stefano Portolani, Senior Analyst at the Centro Studi Printing of Stratego Group, outlining the situation of the Italian printing market, and Sara Monti, Senior Sustainability Consultant at Ayming, a multinational specialized in Business Performance Consulting, presenting the results of a study conducted in collaboration with the Centro Studi Printing of Stratego Group, regarding the integration of sustainability themes in the printing sector. The conference concluded with a speech by Mafe de Baggis, digital media strategist and author of the book “In principio era Chat GPT” (In the beginning, there was Chat GPT) on generative artificial intelligences and their impact on communication and creativity. De Baggis highlighted how these technologies have permeated the daily lives of professionals, companies, and agencies, integrating creative and productive processes, arousing curiosity, and stimulating unexpected creativity, going beyond the initial fears, which have not yet been completely overcome
The Gala Dinner was attended by representatives of the most prominent companies in the world of Italian printing and converting. The jury, after evaluating over a hundred applications, awarded companies, entrepreneurs, and businesswomen, getting passionate about the many stories that stood out in different qualitative aspects such as: innovation in publishing, in commercial printing, in processes and technologies adopted, sustainability, and printing on an increasingly used support, corrugated cardboard, one of the protagonists of the packaging world. If these recognitions are the fruit of innovative and creative minds, inspired by Mafe De Baggis’s reflections on the use of the hashtag#prompt of artificial intelligence, it is essential that companies persist in imagining / IMAGINE, in seeking new perspectives, creating, and adopting new technologies to improve the future of printing. In the article that we will publish online on the converter portal on Monday, all the details of the interventions, statements, and winners will be available.
